At Combine Air we’ve partnered with some of the best in the fitness industry. Myzone is a prime example of superior devices for CA x ALL-STARS!

We took the time to sit down with Myzone Director Mike Beeney to help us answer some of the most common questions ALL-STARS ask about Myzone!

WHAT TRAINING ZONE SHOULD I WORK IN WHEN TRAINING AT CA?

The zone target will differ depending on the type of session you are in.

During Meta-Pacer/ Meta-Sweat/Swift-Box/Max-Air 60 sessions you want to be targeting the yellow and red zones, as you will generally be exerting more effort, meaning a higher heart rate.

During Super-Burn/Super-Sweat/Thunder-Box sessions you want to be targeting the blue and green zones, as you will generally be exerting effort at a lower intensity.

WHAT EXACTLY IS A MEP AND HOW IS IT CALCULATED?

MEPs is an acronym for MYZONE Effort Points, and it’s the metric by which everything is measured in the fitness tracking system. The MEPS you earn are dictated by your frequency, intensity and duration of training sessions.

The more effort you put into each of your workouts, the more MEPs you earn! Unlike calories which will differ for each person ( based on gender, body weight) MEP’s are based on personalised effort so create a level playing field for all users. Perfect for challenges and leaderboards!

Myzone Effort Points (MEPs) are earned based on the effort exerted by the user. Time spent in each Heart Rate Zone earns different numbers of MEPs:

  • Grey = 1 MEPs per minute
  • Blue = 2 MEPs per minute
  • Green = 3 MEPs per minute
  • Yellow = 4 MEPs per minute
  • Red = 4 MEPs per minute

WHY SHOULD I GET A MYZONE WHEN TRAINING AT CA?

There are 6 features that make Myzone the fitness belt of choice when training on and off the field of green.

Accuracy!

Myzone is one of the most accurate wearables on the market (99.4% accuracy to an EKG machine) allowing you to track any kind of workout. Wrist based devices such as fitbit or apple watch are unable to accurately track many of the movements in a session when your wrist is bent or clenched during movements such as boxing or lifting weights.

Integration!

Myzone integrates with a range of other technologies. Gym equipment such as Ski Ergs, Rowers, Treadmills and Spin bikes is a favourite as well as most commonly used apps apps like Strava, and Apple/android Watches.

Community!

Myzone allows you to easily connect with fellow ALL-STARS, friends, family and trainers at any club by using the social platform to like, share and comment on workouts, keeping you and your team accountable!

Arena Display!

The Arena displays help motivate ALL-STARS through squad heart rate tracking and compare your stats with other ALL-STARS in your session. Seeing your workout effort percentage on the screen alongside the percentages of those around you motivates you to work hard to stay at the front of the pack. Coaches can also monitor and guide you based on your live feedback to ensure you have a safe and effective workout every time at CA.

MEPS!

The MEPS measurement creates a level playing field for all no matter age, weight or gender. It allows ALL-STARS to compare and track any type of workout anywhere and compare your exercise level for each workout, week, month or year.

Myzone week at CA!

Myzone has enabled fitness facilities such as Combine Air to game-ify their squad sessions. CA hosts challenges (also known as Myzone week) where ALL-STARS can compete against each other or represent your club in an inter-club challenge. Myzone also hosts global challenges throughout the year on the Myzone App.
